Provide education for 350 Syrian Children this Dhul Hijjah!

The holy month of Dhul Hijjah is here, the month of the sacred journey of Hajj and Eid al Adha. This month is also a chance for us to reap abundant blessings.

Over a decade has passed since the start of the conflict in Syria and displaced children and families are still suffering. A generation of children have lost their right to education.

Jusoor’s Refugee Education Programme supports displaced Syrian children to continue their education while living in the Juraiya Refugee Camp in Lebanon. Our team and volunteers have been working towards building long-term solutions for the children in these camps. With your generous donations, we have already educated over 8,600 children in our education centres.

We are in the month of Dhul Hijjah, one of the holiest dates of the Islamic year. Here, we have another chance to reap the abundance of rewards we are offered. Your support can change the lives of young Syrian refugee children through the gift of education.

Jusoor offers a safe place for children to learn and play with their peers, in a warm classroom with a nutritious meal alongside psychosocial support. We are given a chance to gain an abundance of rewards through these beloved ten days, where we see Hajj and Eid al Adha. 

Life is not getting any easier for Syrian refugees in Lebanon 

Lebanon is on the brink of collapse. After a financial crisis and subsequent economic meltdown, the nation's issues have been exacerbated by the pandemic and the Port of Beirut blast. In 2020 the poverty rate had estimated to have doubled to over 55 percent while nearly one in four were living in extreme poverty. Syrian refugee families in Lebanon are at a greater disadvantage than their hosts and are struggling to access basic necessities as a result, education is unfortunately no longer an option for many children. This is where the life-changing work of Jusoor begins, with your help.

Our team and volunteers have been working towards building long-term solutions for the children in the Beirut camps, and with your generous donations, we have already educated over 8,600 children in our education centres. 

Education, Nutrition and Psychosocial Support

Education is the key to a bright future, preventing refugee children from becoming victims of exploitation, underage labour and child marriage. Classrooms help connect refugee children to social services and provide a sense of normalcy and a safe space for children who have often faced trauma. At Jusoor, we build and nurture safe places for children to learn, play and prepare them for a brighter future, a future beyond poverty, filled with wishes and limitless dreams. Your donation will not only help fund their tailored education but also provide nutritious school meals, and psychosocial support through counselling and a specialised curriculum.

Your gift will sustain the efforts of Jurahiya School, allowing it to accommodate more refugee children whose schooling has been disrupted by war, displacement and the pandemic. Jurahiya School is one of the few schools educating Syrian refugee children, and our efforts go beyond the classroom by ensuring all pupils are offered a warm meal, mental health support and a safe space to play and be children.
