About Us: 

The established idea

In 2004 Israeli tanks were in the streets of Nablus, youth students from An-Najah university decided to make voluntary work for children, so they established a circus troupe called: Assirk Assaghir “in English means SMALL CIRCUS” 

They started in public spaces with children using simple types of equipment and depending on music and clowning

Assirk Assaghir now: 

 Assirk Alsaghir is a Palestinian NGO working with a wide range of communities, we are working with children, youth, women, and people in a marginalized area 

Assirk assaghir is located now in a historical building, it is 114 years old, from the Ottoman era. 

Our programs: 

• Nablus performing arts school

The only school for performing arts that are working in training, producing, and hosting art shows, to improve cultural life in Nablus and to be a part of the ecosystem in Palestine 

We are training circus, theatre, traditional dance, and contemporary dance 

• Creative industry hub

We have established a hub for artists which able them to come and work on their works in a safe environment, we also making workshops for them in the business plan, and marketing, to sustain their works 

• Community program

This program aims to work with the community to express their problems in art way 

• Alternative stage

Nablus suffers without a formal stage for making the show, it does not have any free stage to work or to host any type of shows, so assirk assaghir making stage for all organizations they need to play their shows in Nablus

Before COVID-19, About 100 children directly benefited from our training and workshops, and 5000 children benefited indirectly way. As a result of the pandemic, our workshops have decreased especially in marginalized areas. Also, according to our building which is an old one nearly 144 years old, it starts to crack, wear out and fall causing a dangerous situation for our children and us, it will need a special renovation to keep its legacy.

Project:

Assirk Alsaghir aims to implement different activities for children to help them express their feelings and emotion, circus, dabbkah, theatre, dance, CAMPING, and so on. and repair the place to become a better, safe place with adequate tools.

Your Generous support will provide the children with: 

1. safety equipment.

We need safety equipment for our training room, our safety is too old and not working effectively 

1. support free training for a year for poor children.

75 % of Your generous support will go to training poor children 

1. Ceiling Repairing

Because of the building age the ceiling needs repair, it always falling in the main training hall, and it makes it dangers 

1. Restroom units repairing

Our rest room suffering many problems, we need to build a new one suitable for children and our works
