The recent interruption of children from face-to-face learning due to Covid19 has caused a high rate of learning difficulties in children, and the competent authorities must intervene quickly. We at Al Karama center are planning to prepare interactive educational classes that specialize in remedial learning for learning difficulties to provide for students at Al Jalazoun refugee camp before it is too late. 

Why do they need your support?

• 30% of Palestinian children aged (6-11) years suffer from learning difficulties.
• 5% of children with disabilities suffer from learning difficulties.
• Parents lack pedagogical and educational methods to help their children with homework.
• Lack of specialized staff in schools for learning difficulties.
• The lack of civil society institutions to coordinate recreational programs for children.

About us :

The association for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled and the Family Guidance Charitable Society of Al-Karama Center in Al-Jalazun Camp \ Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate was established in 1994 on a voluntary basis and with a license from the Ministry of Interior. Rehabilitation and provision of assistive devices for the disabled.

The goals and programs that included children with disabilities, the family, women and society in general were expanded in terms of family counseling, which included all age groups of families from inside the camp and neighboring villages.

This project is part of the Camp Improvement Plan of the Jalazone Refugee Camp, a compilation of priority actions to improve the living conditions of the camp. The Plan was formulated through an inclusive process with the participation of various segments of camp residents (i.e. women, youth, children, disabled, the poor, etc). The Plan was developed with technical assistance from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Department of Refugee Affairs (DoRA).
