Salaam all :) My name is Mariam Saleh and I'm a senior completing my undergrad as pre-med. Over the past few years, I've been fortunate enough to have embarked on various medical and humanitarian relief journeys to places like Haiti, Greece, and Palestine (West Bank). I am a Palestinian American and daughter to refugee parents who grew up in the camps of Jalazone and Qalandia near Ramallah, Palestine. Having successfully completed various missions in the past, all thanks to the help of good hearted individuals, I've been able to directly witness the miracles that donation money has accomplished in different impoverished parts of the world. A few dollars can feed an entire family.

Bodies entrapped under an apartheid state 

A little hope can go a very long way; that is something the resilience of Palestinians has always reminded me. They have been living under the world's longest illegal military occupation on their own homeland. Having already been stripped of their homes, they are not free to roam the land as there are hundreds of checkpoints. Their food and water sources are regulated strictly (and usually cut off), and they lack appropriate medical care due to the devastating circumstances they live under. I am aiming to raise money to provide Palestinian refugees scattered among the West Bank with the necessary resources they should have to survive and thrive, despite trying conditions. 

I am striving to raise money to provide the refugees, and hospital patients, with basic necessities such as:

• Sustainable meals that can feed families in the long run
• Necessary medications
• Clothing, fans, shoes
• Pillows, blankets
• Books, toys, etc. for children
• Any other supplies needed (you can always message me if you would like to have your money go towards something specific too!)

From Palestine to Chicago... refugees deserve peace and support!

Let's work together to help spread humanitarian care and support to struggling refugees in the West Bank. Palestinian refugees, and refugees in general, are the world's most resilient people in my eyes, because they have the least, yet always offer their last crumbs to others.
