Shaykh Luqman Wadee, founder of the Ashraful organizations, attained martyrdom on Friday 17 August 2001 / 27 Jamadul al-Awwal 1422 in a motorcar accident whilst on a humanitarian aid trip in Mozambique. His death epitomizes the words of Rasulullah (SAW): "You will die as you lived, and you will be raised as you lived." Marhum Shaykh dedicated his life towards the spiritual upliftment and well being of the Muslims, and he passed away whilst engaged in this mission. Continue his legacy (Sadaqah Jariyah) by building water wells in rural Mozambique & sponsoring other water projects.

A shocking 75% of Mozambicans do not have access to adequate sanitation. Those in Mozambique’s rural areas are the most greatly effected by the water crisis.

In rural African communities, people need to walk extremely long distances on a daily basis to get water. This causes immense strain on the individual, and creates even more difficulties for women, children and the elderly.

Diseases are also a lot more common during drought periods. Droughts result in a reduced amount of drinking water leading to a lack of hygiene and sanitation. This causes diseases to be more easily spread.

Ashraful Aid builds wells in rural African communities and in countries such as Mozambique, South Africa, Malawi, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and more. This ensures that communities have easy access to clean water on a regular basis, more so during the COVID-19 crisis.​
