Raihanna stories are fun, relatable and heartwarming with vibrant illustrations to catch your child's eye.

Support a new way of growing up!

Children are surrounded by non-Muslim festivals, occasions, toys, and books and it is only natural for them to gravitate towards these things. Their friends enjoy them, why can’t they? Why can’t they join the Christmas party, or can they? Why is Elsa not wearing a hijab but mommy is? This conflict appears due to the lack of Muslim characters that can be seen, heard, and read.

Imagine if watching Elsa or Doc Mcstuffins made the life of your child less confusing. Imagine if questions like “Mommy, what is Santa and why don’t we celebrate Christmas?” were answered by reading a series of children's books that are fun, engaging, and educational? Products that will allow your child to explore what Islam is and what it really means to be a Muslim - and most importantly, to realize that it is actually really fun and easy to be one!

Raihanna Does It All!

Raihanna is a spirited 6 year old Muslim girl who loves to learn and help others. She lives in a small home with her mama and baba, and has two best friends, Safiya and Maryam. Raihanna takes us on a journey as she overcomes obstacles with family, friends, faith and her inner self.

This series of books give Muslim children a story they can identify with and make them feel proud of who they are. A crucial ingredient for their growth, development, and ease of inclusion in their society. We want to equip children with fun knowledge of Islam to help them become the best Muslims they can be.

This book is opened to all Non Muslim readers as well! With Islamophobia on the rise it's crucial for kids to learn about their Muslim friends or neighbors and understand what islam is really about.

Where Your Contributions Go

Here's an account of how we're going to distribute all your contributions to this campaign. Each amount represents the cost to achieve that item. Stack the costs and the total amount required increases. Note that the stretch goals begin once the campaign goal of $50,000 is reached.

Books will be delivered January 2017

With the funds we generate from our Launchgood campaign (your amazing generosity) we will be able to do the following:

Place more orders - we currently only have the funds to place very small orders from our manufacturer. Raihanna is proving to be popular and without more books being produced we won’t be able to meet the demand.
Shipping - Part of producing more books is shipping them over to us! This costs money, too! A portion of the funds raised will go a long way to cover this cost.
Ordering high quality merchandise - Books are our core but we have so much more to offer and we’ve been listening to our customers and they are wanting merchandise to go alongside the books they read. What we have in mind:

Coloring and activity books

Interactive storytelling apps & games - We recognise that our readers are also online, no matter how young they are! Creating a Youtube channel, investing more time on our social media presence and developing interactive storytelling apps and game will also be high on the agenda.

Who’s behind Raihanna?

The Author

Qamaer Hassan, a graphic designer and fitness instructor. She has a huge passion for animation and illustration. Combining her love for design/illustration as well as her love for her nieces and nephews came the birth of Raihanna series.

Co-Founder & Husband

Ismail Salem is the Dean and teacher of a New York City public school. He has a BA in History and education as well as a MA in Special education for K-12th grade. His passion and drive is to educate and help the growth and development of children. His goal in life is to move young people to strive for the highest potential and to make them self-aware and conscious of their strengths.

Together they are the perfect recipe in creating Raihanna, a muslim character that your children will love!
