As'salaamu Alaykum wa Ramadan Mubarak

It's been some time since our last update. We've been on the land for nearly two years. In that time we've built a cabin, converted three sheds into two cabins and a workshop.

We care for chickens, ducks, rabbits, goats, and bees. We have a small garden and several fruiting trees and shrubs for a future orchard inshallah.

Most importantly, this journey would not have been possible without your support. Thank you and we pray to have you visit us in the near future inshallah.

Assalaamu alaykum. It’s been a challenging journey yet we are grateful to report that we are now full time stewards on the land. We’ve begun organizing a basecamp and started a rain harvesting project. Inshallah we’ll send more updates as we progress along. 

We now have a farm truck.

We now have a water filtration system.

We now have solar panels!

This is just a quick update to let you know we've started building! Our first building project is called the Hijrah Hut (beta). It's a tiny dwelling that's modular and can be assembled and disassembled with just two people. The purpose of the Hijrah Hut is to provide transitional shelter once we've moved to the land.

As'salaamu Alaykum wa Ramadan Mubarak,

Two years ago in this very month, you helped us raise $16,087 to make a down payment on land that would become New Medina Village. We used every penny of your support to make that down payment and New Medina Village an idea five years in the making came to life.

Only a few months after our LaunchGood campaign New Medina Village found itself making a difficult choice, to continue or to close. The choice to close was made and many felt disappointed by this decision. Hindsight being 20/20, it was the right decision to make. 

Today, we are very pleased to inform you that your support was not in vain. We now have land and the commitments we made to you are being fulfilled. We are currently working on our transition to the land beginning in 2018 insha'Allah.

Thank you again for your support, we hope to give you additional updates sometime in the spring of 2018.
