In the UK, research has found that of the 3,000 Muslim children entering foster care every year, approximately half spend time living in non-Muslim homes.
Last Ramadhan, with the help of Launchgood and 102 supporters, we raised £2,859 and were able to send 285 boxes to foster families looking after Muslim children.
We had our launch event at London Central Mosque.
Our Welcome box will provide the foster carer with the tools and knowledge enabling them to understand the religious and cultural needs of a Muslim child.
Through our Welcome Box, we want the foster carer and foster child to feel that there is a community of people who care for them and are willing to support them.
