The Muslim Education and Converts Center of America® (M.E.C.C.A.) is an educational non-profit organization located conveniently in the heart of New York City. Since our establishment in 2006, we continue to be one of the few institutions in the tri-state area dedicated to providing traditional Islamic education. Our services provide Muslims with the support and knowledge they need and deserve in a nurturing and understanding environment. We encourage our students to become strong, knowledgeable members of the community so that they will make positive contributions to our faith and society as a whole. We need your help to continue this important work so Muslims can continue to benefit! By the grace of God and through much hard work and struggle, M.E.C.C.A. has developed into a Muslim learning center where converts feel truly welcome because we honor their roots and their culture while teaching them the basics of their new chosen faith. Since opening our doors in 2006 M.E.C.C.A. has been at the forefront of dawah and Islamic education in New York City. Our flagship New Muslims Program and other courses were compiled with the consultation of traditional Sunni Islamic scholarship — thereby ensuring the authenticity and reliability of the teaching that we provide. And while our students benefit from the learning they receive, our supporters benefit by fulfilling the fard kifayah (communal obligation) to help new Muslims. 

 
 
Although it started as a center for new Muslims to learn the basics, over the years M.E.C.C.A. has become a place of traditional learning where converts and others who were born Muslim can continue to learn and grow. It now serves as a resource for traditional yet forward-thinking Islamic studies in the heart of New York City
