Our story, who we are, why we are so passionate about this project!

Creating Kancy Switch was and is an incredibly personal experience. The story behind us as creators started three years ago when we "Group of Syrian Engineers" decided to enter the smart home world frustrated by flipping switches and going back upstairs –again– making sure that that hair dryer was really off. Or worrying in your favorite restaurant whether the lights on the front porch were on or off – “Is this really the 21st century?” we asked. We can surely do better than that!

After few months down the line we discovered that all systems on the market were limited in features, highly costly and setting up required lots of home decoration changes. So we started off creating our own central hub for every smart gadget in market and we really put a lot of effort in that approach at first. But after a while we discovered that we were not on the right track with the hub idea. 

Wouldn’t it be much smarter not to have any hub but only a tiny, standalone, wireless device which turns any dumb appliance into a smart and green one? That’s when Kancy was born! Turning every crazy beam–me–up–Scotty idea into reality became a passion – and more and more so when Kancy began materializing. And now we are here –ready to launch! It’s just Really exciting!

Technology is all around us, which has made smart living a necessity in our everyday lives. Typically, everything comes with a price… except for Kancy. Kancy will cut down the cost of changing your old appliances by making your existing devices smart with just a tap on your phone.

Kancy is iOS and Android compatible and can be controlled through our app, providing you with real-time functionality for every device in your home. Anything that plugs into an outlet can interact with Kancy!  

Kancy has the ability to control any electrical device in your home: your lighting, stereo set, coffee machine, water heater, A/C, and more. The possibilities are endless with Kancy!

As a standalone device that doesn’t require a hub or controller, the Kancy Switch can be installed in any universal power junction or wall power outlet. It’s so small, it fits easily and has DIY capability for the experienced user. And using your existing WiFi connection and you don’t have to replace any of your power switches or sockets, saving your time and money.

For ease of use and quick integration, Kancy has been designed to work with many other IoT brands. A ”Location Service” keeps you updated –in real time–on the status of your places, monitoring all active appliances and deactivating any appliance you choose at fingertip control through the Kancy app. With the user location information provided by the iOS/Android systems, Kancy’s “places profile” can define your place’s location to apply the location-based rules.

Some of your rules may read:

• My Rule 1: “When I am more than 20mls away, switch OFF water heater and A/C.”
• My Rule 2: “When I am closer than 5mls from home, switch ON water heater and A/C.”
• My Rule 3: “When I leave my home all lights are switched OFF –except 1st and 2nd floor energy saving lamps and the garden lights are ON between 19:00 and 23:00 AND the door bell gets transferred to my mobile”. (Possibly even just as the door intercom, so I can answer the door even when I am not at home).
• My Rule 4: “5 Minutes before I approach home, garden lights and 1st floor lights are switched ON”.
• My Rule 5: “When my door bell is activated between 19:00 and 6AM Garden lights are switched ON for 10min”.

It couldn’t be a more luxurious than knowing your needs and delivering them without even touching your smartphone, just let Kancy do the routine job for you by itself.

This feature shows you whether your appliance is available online and whether its ON or OFF. You will also be notified in case any appliance or any light bulb fails.

The Kancy App provides you with up-to-date notifications and many monitoring options. All of this helps you minimize the risks of fire, electric shock, burglary and other hazards. For example, if a light is turned on when it shouldn’t have been, you get a notice or if you have small kids around: Just remotely disable the lower power outlets –et viola have your peace of mind.

The good news first: All Kancy models work worldwide! No matter where you are in the world, there is a Kancy for you. Our smart switches are widely compatible, so European, American, Asian, African, and Australian consumers all use the same Kancy, even if the voltage is different and the outlets look different.

What we need & what You get:

Right now, we are turning to you, the launchgood community, $10,000 is required for us to pay the costs associated with producing these switches,including molding, casting, manufacturing, packaging and shipping.

We would like to produce the world's first standalone mini smart electrical switch. As a thank-you to everyone who helps us to accomplish this, we have put together some exciting rewards the Kancy smart switch in a variety of additional models.
Our stretch goals of $50,000, $100,000, and $300,000 are intended to cover the costs of developing Kancy Servo, Kancy Dimmer, and Kancy Outlet switches respectively.

Risks and challenges

As with any new product, of course there are inherent development risks in devices as complicated and multidimensional as the Kancy smart switches. We, as a truly international team of experienced engineers are prepared to do whatever is necessary to supply a world-class product to our future customers and especially to all our contributors!
