One in 7 Americans face hunger.
Hunger is a global epidemic, but when most people think of hunger, they don’t think of the United States. It’s true, in many ways, America is the land of plenty. But a large portion of our neighbors will stare at empty plates while we prepare to enjoy our special Ramadan meals.
As we strive to perfect our iman this Ramadan, let’s remember the saying of our beloved Prophet (saw): “He is not a believer who eats his fill while his neighbor beside him goes hungry.” (Bukhari)
Our goal is to send 280,000 pounds of food across five different states around the country - Texas, California, Virginia, New Jersey, and Michigan. Each food package costs $65 dollars and your efforts will provide families and individuals in need with the following items (minor item changes may occur depending on location):

Great News from Islamic Relief!
Assalamu-Alaikum,
On behalf of our staff at Islamic Relief, I'd like to thank you so much for your incredible generosity in donating to our campaign to feed hungry Americans in Ramadan. You all have been SO generous that we raised our $50,000 dollar goal just 10 days into Ramadan MashAllah!
We have 35+ food box distributions this ramadan around the country. I personally went to one of the distributions at Masjid Muhammad in Washington DC last week. I can't tell you how much good these food boxes are doing! The majority of the recipients were low-income senior citizens that had a difficult time even carrying the boxes we gave them, let alone providing their own meals. Your donations are going a long way.
I just wanted to update you that because we have reached our goal so quickly, we feel that we can do more. We have now raised our donation goal to $75,000 to provide even more food boxes for the needy!
If you'd like to do more, we are encouraging people to host their own small benefit iftars to help raise money for this program. The way it works is 3 steps: 1.) Go to launchgood.com/feed and click on "create a campaign". 2.) Plan to cook, prepare an iftar, or host a potluck with family and friends. 3.) Ask people to donate to your campaign page instead of having to provide their own food. This way, they will be providing food to others this ramadan. Just FYI a food package costs $65.
