This is the continuation of the project from last year in which we raised almost $5000. With that money, we expanded our student base to more than 340 students, including many more orphans and children from disadvantaged families. With the hit of the Corona-virus and economic situation in Turkey, many children's families suffered more serious financial problems. However, we will still keep supporting them, for their education and livelihood. We hope you can support our campaign. 

Why Uyghurs? 

The oppression of the Uighur Muslims in China is today unparalleled. Over two million of them have been imprisoned in concentration camps. The Qur’an and fasting have been banned, while all youth under 18 are not allowed in the masjid. A single madrasah today does not exist in the whole Xinjiang (East Turkistan) region.

As Turkey become the home of many Uyghur refugees in recent years, the necessity of an Uyghur foundation that focuses on helping the disadvantaged Uyghur community in Turkey and around the globe is tremendously increasing. Hira Culture and Education Foundation is built out of this need which focuses on delivering the Uyghur community with help on the settlement, difficulties in the foreign country, and most importantly the education to the orphans and children from disadvantaged families.

Why Hira and Why this Campaign?

Hira is an officially registered charity in Turkey by young Uyghur intellectuals, aims to provide humanitarian help to the Uyghur community-centered from Turkey. We started with setting up Hira School to provide free education and food to Uyghur refugee Children. There were already more than 1000 students who benefited from our free education and over 200 students are currently being enrolled. 

In this campaign, we would like to raise money for providing education to the disadvantaged Uyghur children living in Turkey. We will use this money to help with their tuition, food, clothing, and materials for studies as well as necessary sheltering. 

Students are not only learning Modern subjects but also learning Islamic subjects in our school which they are forbidden to learn in their home country by the Chinese government.
