On March 18, 2018, around 7 am, life changed dramatically for several families residing at 49 Belmont Avenue in Springfield Mass.
A father came home from work around 3 am and went to bed only to wake up to flames and his kids screaming. He helped his wife and baby daughter outside to safety and then returned to the burning building to save his 2 other young children. He and his 2 kids never made it out. He leaves behind a wife who is pregnant and a young baby daughter.
The Fathers name is Aden Abdakadr and his sons were 1 year old Ahmed Ahmed and 2-year-old Fatumo Ahmed.
Another father also helped his wife and daughter flee the building and returned to rescue another child. He couldn't take the stairs as the fire was spreading everywhere. So what did he do...he jumped from the 3rd floor with his baby in his arms. His baby is OK but he has serious spinal injuries and is facing paralysis.
