Fitra Center Food Pantry

Alhamdulillah, the Fitra Center Food Pantry is now up and running! Our goal is to distribute food every Sunday to families in need. Our pre-sorted and bagged food provides 25-30 families with groceries containing canned foods, pasta, rice, bread, dairy products and produce. With the support of our generous brothers and sisters, we hope in the near future we will be able to reach out to more and more families, in sha Allah.

Why it Matters?

Helping the poor is an integral part of our faith. We should support one another in this communal obligation to feed those in need. Too often do Muslims seek help from those of other faiths. It's now time for us to be on the giving end!

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr: A man asked the Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, "What sort of deeds or (what qualities of) Islam are good?" The Prophet replied, 'To feed (the poor) and greet those whom you know and those whom you do not Know.'"
Bukhari Volume 1, Book 2, Number 12

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Feed the hungry, visit the sick and set free the captives."

Bukhari, Volume 7, Hadith 552

How can you help?

Alhamdulillah, many volunteers have stepped up to help us sort, pack and distribute the food. We are reaching out for your financial assistance to sustain our food pantry and support us in this rewarding endeavor. May Allah accept it from you and us. Ameen.

Just $80-$100 will allow us to provide food for our less fortunate neighbors each week. Our goal is to raise $1200 which will secure funds to sustain our Food Pantry for at least 3 months, in sha Allah. Every dollar counts! No amount is too little!
