The Imam Bukhari Orphan Education Center is located in the Nawabad Demazaang village of Kabul City, Afghanistan. There are over 25 staff members and 300-orphaned students. Almost $1 a day can help answer the prayer of a student.

Over the past 10 years, we've been able to expand the Imam Bukhari Orphan Education Center into a total of 4 floors, each of them serving a different purpose. 

Why it matters:

UNESCO reports that Afghanistan has one of the lowest literacy rates in the world, currently estimated at about 37% of the adult population. The sponsorship and investment in these children can change the entire trajectory of their lives.

An orphan is the Muslim Ummah’s collective responsibility. The Prophet, peace, and blessings are upon him, said, “The one who cares for an orphan and me will be together in Paradise like this,” and he held his two fingers together to illustrate. (Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 5659)
