Who We Are

Founded in 2006, American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) is dedicated to advancing the movement for justice in Palestine through education, advocacy, and grassroots mobilization. AMP is committed to ending U.S. support for the Israeli occupation, to raising awareness about the plight of the Palestine people, and to supporting their right to freedom, justice, and self-determination in accordance with international law. 

​Our Work

In January, AMP hosted its first-ever policy forum to strategize about injecting the issue of Palestine into the 2020 elections. Dozens of leaders from around the country attended, representing a diverse group of over 20 organizations. Through this forum, we created a space for organizations to work together to promote Palestinian human rights during this year’s elections.

Last summer, AMP sent a group of notable Imams and Muslim activists to Palestine as part of a broader interfaith delegation to mobilize the American Muslim community for Palestine and counter Zionist normalization efforts.  

Our 2019 delegation to Palestine led to AMP hosting a landmark congressional briefing on Capitol Hill on Israel's treatment of U.S. citizens along with discriminatory policies that Palestinian-Americans deal with. AMP Used this policy briefing to introduce a new policy paper which ends with three key policy recommendations that call and the U.S. to follow its own laws. 

For over a decade and a half, we have been able to achieve major strides for Palestine in the United States. Today, Palestine is a crucial component in the American social justice movement.
