We are raising funds to provide urgent emergency food packs to families in Somalia who are facing severe hunger due to prolonged drought and food insecurity, in support of Muslim Hands Canada’s Somalia Emergency Fund. 

All funds raised will go directly to Muslim Hands Canada’s Somalia Emergency Appeal. 

Why This Campaign Matters? 

According to the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), prolonged dry spells have devastated communities across Somalia. Around 2.5 million people across 26 districts are living in areas that are moderately or severely affected by food insecurity. Families are struggling to access basic nutrition, and urgent support is needed to prevent the deadly effects of hunger. 

Ramadan is a time of increased generosity, compassion, and reward. Giving during this blessed month allows us to multiply our impact while helping families who are fasting with little to no access to food. Supporting those in need during Ramadan is one of the most meaningful ways to give Sadaqah and Zakat. 

A Somalia Emergency Food Pack includes essential items such as: 

• Rice 
• Sugar 
• Cooking oil 
• Lentils 
• Flour 
• Milk 

Each food pack provides enough food for a family of five for an entire month. 

A donation of $200 can feed an entire family for a full month, helping them meet their basic nutritional needs and easing the hardship caused by hunger during this critical time.
