Texas Muslim Women’s Foundation is now Peace in the Home Family Services.

Many of you have known us as the Texas Muslim Women’s Foundation, or TMWF. That name reflects our origins—founded in Texas, rooted in a Muslim community, and created to respond to urgent needs facing women and children experiencing abuse, displacement, and financial insecurity.

Today, Peace in the Home Family Services supports survivors across the country who are seeking safety, shelter, and stability. Many of the individuals we serve are experiencing financial distress, housing instability, and lack of access to basic necessities—conditions that make donations a critical lifeline.

Peace in the Home reflects both the heart of our mission and the full scope of our services. It speaks to what every survivor deserves:
safety from harm, dignity in hardship, and a path toward healing and self-sufficiency.

While our name has evolved, our mission has not. We remain deeply committed to supporting survivors of domestic violence through:

• Emergency and transitional housing
• Case management to include food, clothing, and basic necessities
• Legal and counseling support
• Support services that help families regain financial and personal stability

This work ensures that your donations are used to meet immediate needs and to help individuals move from crisis toward independence. 

This evolution is not a departure from who we’ve been—it is an expansion of it. We honor our roots while embracing a name that reflects the growing communities we serve and the essential, compassionate work made possible by your support.

Over the past 20 years, we have expanded our programs, services, and outreach to meet the evolving needs of individuals and families. As a leader in domestic violence awareness and support, we have made a lasting impact: 

• Established two 24/7 crisis shelters for survivors of family and domestic violence, providing safety and essential resources.
• Opened a senior sanctuary to offer long-term stability, care, and community for older adults in desperate need.
• Developed 27+ transitional apartments, including HUD Rapid Re-Housing, to assist families on their journey to independence.
• United Faith leaders in North Texas under a zero-tolerance pledge against domestic violence.
• Organized community dialogues and outreach initiatives, fostering collaboration and support.
• Spearheaded the Contemporary Arab & Muslim Cultural Institute (CAMSCI) at the University of North Texas.
• Provided training and education on domestic violence, online safety for youth, mental wellness, financial literacy, and women’s entrepreneurship.
