                        بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

My name is Lara, and I am honoured to be part of Human Concern International's fundraising for Palestine.

HCIs RESPONSE PLAN
A ceasefire was brokered. The people of Gaza need us now to help them heal, repair, and rebuild their homes, their schools, their hospitals, and their communities.

Human Concern International has initiated a three-phase response:
1. Phase one is providing medical aid, psychological support, and food.
2. Phase two is house repair once things calm down.
3. Phase three is helping to rebuild the community

We've already distributed relief kits to the families who have lost their homes and are providing them with daily meals, food baskets, and medical supplies and lifesaving medical equipment to help treat the injured.

We will begin transitioning into phase 2 and phase 3 in the coming days, weeks, and months.

1st PHASE UPDATES

Alhamdullilah, thanks to you HCI was one of the very first organizations delivering relief on the ground to our brothers and sisters in Gaza. Our first phase of relief is underway, and our team on the ground is actively supporting the innocent victims of these attacks.

Given that this situation began in the final 10 nights of Ramadan, HCI delivered meals that were distributed to families in Sheikh Jarrah for iftar. Food baskets were also distributed to the families in Gaza that lost their homes.

What's In the Food Basket?
These baskets provide families with essentials to meet their needs for an entire month. It contains items such as rice, sugar, cooking oil, beans, tomato sauce, halwa, tahini, lentils, freekeh, hummus cans, canned meat, powder milk, dates, flour, tuna cans, pasta, salt, tea, chicken broth, and frozen vegetables.

Ready to Eat Packages
Due to the rapid changes in the circumstances and the destruction of hundreds of residential apartments, Gazan families are now seeking shelter at UNRWA schools and local hospitals. These families require ready-to-eat food packs. HCI is providing these Gazan families with a week's supply of ready-to-eat food packs that covers their daily needs.

Hospitals and Clinics
We are supporting Al Shifa hospital in Gaza city through the procurement of the most needed medical supplies. We are working in collaboration with the Palestinian Ministry of Health and the hospital in order to avoid any duplications in the efforts and to secure the items from the local market.
We are also working with Al Aqsa Emergency Clinic in Jerusalem (AlQuds).

This is the only medical institute within the Masjd Al Aqsa campus that provides first aid and medical intervention for emergencies to the visitors of Masjid Al Aqsa. We are supporting the clinic through the provision of the lifesaving medical equipment that are needed to keep it running and to help the paramedics do their job.

WHAT HAPPENED?
Israel bombarded the Gaza Strip with air raids and artillery shells, devastating the region.

262 Palestinians were killed, more than 60 of them were children.

The UN has said it estimates approximately 10,000 Palestinians have left their homes in Gaza amid the Israeli offensive. Thousands have permanently lost their homes in the destruction.

Our brothers and sisters need help. While they stand together as a nation fragmented by checkpoints and boarders, we need to stand together to demonstrate our support and solidarity with them.

All donations will go towards medical aid, food packs, and home repairs.
At the origin of this aggression, in East Jerusalem, solder attacked, injured, and arrested 37 children.

During Eid Al-Fitr, we collected donations to provide each child affected by Israeli aggression in Gaza and in Jerusalem with toys and treats on Eid day.
For the coming days, families will need food, water and get back to your homes that we are aiming to repair.
