Masjid Hasan of Al Islam (1201 E. Allen Ave. Fort Worth, TX) was purchased & established on Orthodox Islam (Qur’an & Sunnah) in the mid-70’s under the leadership of Imam WD Muhammad to become the 1st Masjid in Fort Worth, TX. The architectural & structural design of Masjid Hasan of Al Islam dates back to 1918 and was originally a Christian Church. By virtue of the history of the building and its use, Masjid Hasan of Al Islam is:

• A Historical Landmark of Fort Worth
• The 1st Masjid in Fort Worth
• A pillar of the Southside of Fort Worth
• Less than 1 mile from I-35W and approx. 3 miles from Downtown Fort Worth for easy access.
• Able to serve inner-city Muslims and both make dawa and serve vulnerable population of people in the area

The Need & Ask

Due to some structural deterioration coupled with the advent of Covid-19, except for on-line lectures, Masjid Hasan of Al Islam has not been available to the community since 2020. However, with new vision, energy, & committed Muslims, the goal is to return to full services by Ramadan 2026 with the help of the DFW Ummah. Our goal is to raise 250K; however, this platform seeks communities beyond Dallas/Fort Worth to help us raise a portion of the amount needed; Insha-Allah! When the goal is reached; Insha-Allah, this will encompass a fully functioning Cultural Wing preserving African American Muslim History; DFW Muslim History, & a multitude of services to the Community at Large.

n the interim and upon completion of restoration, the following services to look forward to:

• Salatul Jumu’ah & Taleem
• Youth Enrichment Program
• Food Outreach & Distribution
• Social Services for Indigent Muslims
• Meaningful Cultural Exchange
• Preservation of African American Muslim History (e.g., library, artifacts, publications, etc.)
• Community Events & Engagements
