Every year, instead of gifts, I’m inviting you to help me fund two causes that are deeply personal to me: orphans and families experiencing homelessness.

Islam reminds us that giving only elevates us: spiritually and in barakah. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Charity does not decrease wealth.” (Sahih Muslim)

I’m partnering with Latifi Hands, an organization whose mission is “charity with clarity.” As a public health professional, I don’t take donations lightly. I’ve personally met with the team, reviewed how they operate, looked at their bookkeeping and accountability processes, and spent time with people who have been directly impacted by their work.

Every year, I run a birthday fundraiser at different scales but this year I’m focusing on two urgent, specific projects where your support can make a clear, immediate difference.

1) Orphans: Safe, Dignified Housing + Education & Healthcare Support

I was personally connected to ~35 orphan girls who are currently living without basic sleeping essentials many are sleeping on metal bed frames with no mattresses and no proper bedding.

Fundraising goals for this project:
• Mattresses + bedding (immediate priority)
• Improvements to housing conditions
• Additional support for education needs (tuition cost,supplies,, essentials)
• Support for basic healthcare needs as they arise

Why this matters: Sleep is not a luxury; it impacts physical growth, mental health, learning, and long-term wellbeing. A proper bed is dignity.

2) Rebuilding a Home for a Fire-Affected Family in Brahmanbaria

A large fire impacted multiple properties, leaving families without stable shelter. Currently, 10 families are in need, and our immediate goal is to fully rehome one family as a starting point.

Target to rehome one family: ~$800–$900 USD
This goes toward essentials like rebuilding support, materials, and basic household setup so a family can live safely again.

Optional: Cataract Surgery Support (Separate Cause)

If we exceed our core goals or if you specifically want your donation directed here, we will also collect funds to support much-needed cataract surgeries for individuals who can regain their sight through a relatively simple procedure.
