The Vision: 1992 to 2026

Da‘awatul Islamia was founded in 1992 by a small group of community members with a vision to create a lasting home for worship, education, and a diverse community in Somerset and Middlesex County.

For over three decades, our community made the best of a limited space. However, as our families grew, our facility could no longer meet even the most basic needs.

The Reality of Overcrowding

We faced severe overcrowding during Jumu'ah and Ramadan, with congregants forced to pray in hallways and overflow areas. Beyond the prayer hall, our facilities were inadequate; the restrooms and wudu areas were small, only accommodating 1–2 people at a time resulting in men having to use the sisters restroom for wudu, and the layout lacked the privacy and Islamic standards our community deserves.

Building a Modern Hub

Today, that vision is finally becoming a reality. The rebuilding of our masjid goes beyond building a larger prayer hall. Together, we’re creating a hub for:

• Youth Programs & Education: Dedicated spaces for the next generation to learn and lead.
• Family & Community Support: A dignified center for gatherings and Islamic education.
• Dignified Facilities: Modern, private, and accessible spaces for all.

The Goal: $500,000

To ensure construction continues without interruption, our current goal is to raise $500,000 over the next six months.

Every contribution helps lay the foundation for ongoing Sadaqah Jariyah and a stronger community for generations to come, In Shaa Allah. Join us in building a space where everyone truly belongs.
