During the early morning hours of February 7, 2026, less than two weeks before the start of Ramadan, Islah LA was vandalized and intentionally set on fire.
By the mercy of Allah, the building did not burn down. However, there is fire and smoke damage, and the walls were defaced with hateful graffiti. A sacred space, one that serves as a masjid, community center, and a school for our children, was violated.
This building is home to prayers, classes, and community programs. It is also where students attend a full-time Islamic school, learning their deen, academics, and values in what should be a safe and nurturing environment. An attack on this space affects not only a place of worship, but the daily lives of children, families, teachers, and staff.
We are raising funds to:
Repair fire and smoke damage
Remove graffiti
Upgrade and strengthen security and safety measures
Ensure the school and masjid can continue operating safely
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever relieves a believer’s hardship in this world, Allah will relieve one of his hardships on the Day of Judgment.” Helping restore this masjid and school is an act of sadaqah with lasting impact.
If you are able, please donate. If not, please share this page and make du‘a for the Islah LA community, especially for the children who learn and pray in this space. Your support sends a clear message: hate will not prevail, and this house of Allah will be restored.
May Allah reward you, protect our communities, and place barakah in every contribution.
