Pance Hamidi is a 28-year-old former university lecturer from Alexandria, Egypt, whose life has been devastated by a rare and dangerous tumor. She can barely speak, struggles to swallow, and lives with persistent neck pain. Her illness has forced her to leave behind the career she loved, while her family struggles to find a way to get her the specialized medical care she urgently needs.
We are raising $280,000 to help bring Pance to Maryland for specialized medical evaluation and treatment. Her family cannot afford this journey alone.
Pance has been diagnosed with a clival chordoma, a rare tumor located at the base of the skull, near the brainstem and upper spinal cord.
The tumor has extended into her upper spine, damaging the C1 vertebra—the first bone in her neck—and pressing against her brainstem, which plays a vital role in essential functions such as swallowing and breathing. Its location makes treatment particularly complex and requires highly specialized medical expertise.
According to information provided by her family, the treatment she needs is not available to her in Egypt. Reaching specialists in the United States is an opportunity to pursue care, but the financial burden is far beyond her family's means.
Without financial assistance, accessing the specialized care she needs remains an overwhelming challenge.
AtTayeb Relief Foundation is raising $280,000 to help bring Pance to Maryland and cover the estimated costs of her medical journey, including:
Medical consultations and diagnostic evaluations to assess her condition and establish an appropriate treatment plan.
Potential surgery and hospital expenses, depending on her specialists' recommendations.
Proton beam radiation therapy, if recommended by her medical team.
International travel and accommodation for Pance and necessary assistance during treatment.
Related medical expenses, follow-up care, and recovery needs.
Her proposed treatment may involve endoscopic endonasal surgery to access the tumor, occipitocervical spinal fusion to stabilize her skull and upper spine if necessary, and proton beam radiation therapy to target remaining tumor tissue if recommended.
The $280,000 fundraising goal is intended to cover the estimated medical and related expenses required to bring Pance to Maryland and help her access the specialized care she urgently needs.
Pance's family is facing more than a medical crisis. They are confronting the painful reality that the specialized care she needs may remain out of reach because they cannot afford to get her there.
Your generosity can help bridge that gap.
Every donation brings us closer to our $280,000 goal. If you cannot contribute financially, please share this campaign with your family, friends, and community. Your support can help Pance reach people who may be able to make this journey possible.
