Maha is a brilliant young woman from Gaza. She is pregnant, displaced, and enduring forced starvation under relentless bombing raids that threaten both her life and that of her unborn child every day.

Just before October 7th, 2023, she achieved her lifelong dream of becoming a lawyer. Days later, her university was destroyed, her community devastated, loved ones killed, and the hopes of countless women and children buried under rubble.

Yet somehow, Maha has endured. Against all odds, she continues to survive. She has been accepted to study International Law at the University of Glasgow, where she hopes to advocate for the human rights of her people and build a future rooted in justice and accountability. However, due to lack of funds, she has had to defer her admission until 2026.

Forgotten Women is committed to supporting Maha through this critical time. She received a partial scholarship of €5,000, but she still needs around €22,000 to cover tuition, along with support for her immediate survival. Food is scarce and prices are unimaginably high. One small bowl of lentil soup or beans costs up to $300, while families spend $100 a day just to secure scraps of food. The people of Gaza are facing unprecedented forced starvation, and Maha is among them.
