💔 The Crisis: Famine in El Fasher, Sudan

Sudan is now one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world.

More than half the nation, over 30 million people, need help.

 Acute food insecurity, faced by 21 million (IPC Phase 3+).

Famine (IPC 5) has been officially confirmed in El Fasher and parts of South Kordofan.

Since October 26, 2025, when El Fasher fell after months of siege, over 80,000 people fled in days. Many walked for miles with nothing, no food, no water, no shelter. Camps in Tawila are overflowing, and children arrive exhausted and hungry.

In the first week of November alone, UNICEF recorded 154 unaccompanied children,  separated in the chaos of escape.

Mothers started boiling water just to make hungry children sleep…

because there is simply no food.

Our Response: Food, Water, and Warmth

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

“Whoever relieves a Muslim of a hardship, Allah will relieve him of a hardship from the hardships of the Day of Judgment.”

Maan’s emergency team, led by local Sudanese community leaders who are themselves displaced, is acting fast to restore dignity and survival for those most at risk.

• 🍞 Food parcels: staple grains, lentils, oil, and dates to feed families for weeks.
• 💧 Clean water access: water trucking and purification units to fight dehydration and cholera spread.
• 🧣 Winter protection kits: blankets, sleeping mats, and children’s clothing,  because cold nights in the camps are deadly.

Every delivery is zakat-eligible, reaching those most in need, widows, orphans, the displaced, and the hungry.
