Restoring Sight. Relieving Pain. Rebuilding Hope.

This September Sahra , Akira and Basit , will be travelling to Trincomalee and surrounding rural communities in Sri Lanka as part of the dental care team ; within a large multidisciplinary group of UK-based volunteer healthcare professionals.

Together, we aim to deliver free eye care, dental treatment and essential medical services to individuals and families who have waited far too long for relief, dignity and compassionate support.

Our volunteer team includes:

Dentists, Medical Doctors, Optometrists, Orthoptists and Pharmacists.

Every member is dedicating their time, expertise and compassion to deliver high quality care to those in urgent need.

🌴 Behind the Beauty

Behind Sri Lanka’s breathtaking coastline are families quietly living with:

• Untreated pain

•Preventable vision loss

• Little to no access to safe, affordable healthcare

In rural communities, shortages of healthcare professionals, long and costly travel distances, and severe financial hardship mean treatable conditions are left to worsen for years — sometimes even decades.

Minor problems become major complications. Discomfort becomes disability. Blurred vision becomes isolation.

We will travel across multiple locations, reaching underserved villages and remote communities — delivering care exactly where it is needed most.

Every volunteer on this mission covers the cost of their own flights and accommodation.Your donations go directly to patient care, delivering life changing treatment to those who need it most.

🦷 Dental Care

What we will provide:

• Oral health examinations

• Fillings and extractions

•Pain and infection management

•Oral hygiene education for patients and local healthcare professionals

Dental care is not only about relieving pain. It restores comfort, confidence and the simple ability to eat, speak and smile without constant discomfort.It prevents infections from spreading and protects long term health. For many, it ends years of silent suffering.

👁 Eye Care

What we will provide:

• Comprehensive eye examinations

• Spectacles for adults and children

• Diagnosis and management of common eye conditions and infections

• Cataract screening and referral support

• Funding for cataract and other minor eye operations, where possible

A pair of spectacles can be transformative. For a child, it may mean finally seeing the board clearly — rebuilding confidence and unlocking their potential. For an adult, it restores independence, dignity and the ability to work and provide. Clear vision turns uncertainty into opportunity.

A cataract operation can restore sight and give someone living in darkness the chance to once again see their loved ones’ faces and move safely through the world.

🩺 Medical Care

What we will provide:

• General health consultation

• Diagnosis and management of chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension

• Diagnosis and management of acute illnesses

• Prescribing and supplying essential medications

• Community health advice and education

Timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment can prevent life threatening complications. A single consultation, combined with essential medication support, can restore stability and bring reassurance not only to the patient — but to their entire family.
