السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ
As-salamu Alaykum

This Dhul Hijjah, we ask you to be part of a journey that began humbly in a small apartment in Ypsilanti, where our community first established a maktab and musalla for the sake of Allah. As the community grew, Allah blessed us with the ability to purchase a small home on Golfside Road in 2008 and transform it into Masjid At-Taqwa. For nearly two decades, that space has served as a place of prayer, learning, and community.

Today, Alhamdulillah, our masjid has once again outgrown its capacity. Our current 1,300 square foot building can only hold around 100 worshippers and 20–25 cars, forcing many attendees to park across busy streets and nearby businesses. Every Friday, we hold three Jumu’ah prayers just to accommodate the growing number of worshippers, and during Ramadan we utilize every possible space for Taraweeh prayers.

Now, by the mercy of Allah, we have been given a rare opportunity to purchase and transform a 9,200 square foot property into a thriving masjid for our growing community—offering nearly six times the space for worship, parking, education, youth programs, sisters’ accommodations, and future generations to come.

This opportunity is urgent. We have until June 30th to raise the necessary funds. During these blessed days of Dhul Hijjah, we ask you to invest in a lasting sadaqah jariyah and help secure a permanent home for Masjid At-Taqwa.

“Whoever builds a masjid for the sake of Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” — Sahih al-Bukhari
