Every morning, a 15-year-old student in Syria puts on his school uniform and walks to class. Like many teenagers, he dreams of becoming something more than what his circumstances allow. But unlike his classmates, he carries a responsibility far beyond his age.
He is an orphan. Like countless others who were the result of over 12 years of brutal war.
This year, he may not return to high school. Not because he lacks talent. Not because he lacks ambition. But because he lacks support. For thousands of orphaned students in Syria, high school is not guaranteed. It is fragile and uncertain. And for many, it is the moment where education quietly ends.

In Syria, many children manage to complete primary education.
But when they reach high school, the path becomes harder.
High school orphans are left in between. Yet this stage is the most decisive in a student’s life. It is where dreams either continue or disappear.
No child should have to choose between education and survival.
Yet for orphaned students in Syria, this choice is happening every day, where many choose to drop out and support their families instead.
Jusoor is stepping in at the most fragile stage of a student’s journey. We are launching a High School Scholarship Program in Syria, starting with Aleppo, that ensures orphaned students can complete their high school education with dignity and comprehensive support. This is a bridge between school and higher education.
Every student in the program receives holistic support that goes far beyond tuition.
Education
Preparation for University and Life
Psychosocial Support
This holistic approach ensures that students are supported academically and emotionally, not only in school but on their journey toward higher education.

Since 2022, Jusoor has been running a High School Scholarship Program in Lebanon.
Over the years, Jusoor has supported 908 high school scholars.
High school is one of the most vulnerable and least supported phases in a student’s life. Jusoor has built a model that works.
Now, we are bringing it to Syria, focusing on orphaned students who are most at risk of being left behind.

The cost of supporting one orphaned high school student for a full year is $2,000 USD.
This Ramadan, we aim to support 25 orphaned students in Aleppo.
Campaign goal: $50,000 USD
