Why then, when looking for direction in how to be a good, Muslim man do we not follow the Prophetic model (ASWS)?

The truth is, Islam has the answer to this crisis but the Islamic model for masculinity and how it applies in 2020 just hasn't been made accessible to the men and women looking for solutions.

Being obsessed with personal development, I've always sought to work on myself and those around me. It dawned on me that a hugely neglected area was the question of What are the traits of a good, Muslim man?

I took it upon myself to explore the definition of the masculine according to Islamic sources. I asked: what are the traits of a good man? And how men in 2020 can apply them to demand (and deserve) respect, build healthy families and reclaim their lost role in the world.

I went to the Quran, to the books of hadith, to the tafsir books and beyond looking for clues. What I've found so far will be uncomfortable to both feminists and "alpha males". I always tried to keep an open mind and be guided by the Quran and sunnah rather than impose my personal beliefs into it.

I decided to put this in-depth research into a book, but that's not all...

It's 2020, and not too many Muslim men I know are regular readers. So the goal is to do the hard work of all the research, compile it into a book and then distribute that information in other formats too like audiobook, video and podcast.

The book will be thoroughly checked by multiple scholars of the sharia before being published in shaAllah.

TL;DR: I'm writing a book laying out the Islamic model for masculinity.

I'm Ameen. I grew up in multiple countries in the Muslim and non-Muslim world and alhamdulilah I feel that allows me to bring a different perspective to the table.

For the last 10 years, I've been deeply interested in personal development, high performance and productivity. I've also taken an interest in the Islamic sciences from Aqeedah to Usul Al-Fiqh.

Alhamdulilah on my Youtube channel: Seera Masters, I've put produced over 250 videos sharing my learnings on "the Muslim mindset for success". I'm also now on episode 74 of my popular podcast "Mind Heist" alongside my co-host, Mohammed.

My vision is to help create a world where men are confidently masculine and follow the Prophetic model of leadership, building healthy families and continually working on themselves.

In short, the book will empower men to become better, authentically masculine versions of themselves, thus building prosperous families.

The book is split into 3 main sections going through the Islamic masculine traits of men in 3 spheres of our lives:

• as individuals,

• in the family and;

• in the wider ummah.

It will benefit Muslim men because it focuses on authentic masculinity coming straight from the Quran and Sunnah. It won't be a book full of watered down, feminist-influenced ideas that the average man will roll his eyes at and yet it will still challenge men's ideas of what it means to be a good, Muslim man.

On top of that, I have no intention of leaving this book to gather dust on people's shelves. The information in this book will in shaAllah be spread all over the internet in different formats, so people actually consume it and take action to make the Muslim family stronger.

Alhamdulilah, this is not a business venture, and all money raised will go towards producing, printing and promoting the book.

The idea is to turn this into a sustainable model where people pay for the book and in turn, that gives more funds to promote the book further and further.
