Karvan Kitchen Cookbook (digital/ebook)
Karvan Kitchen: Recipes from Home is more than a cookbook. Although it has 340+ pages and 40+ plant based recipes from the homes of refugees and the communities they come from around the world, Karvan Kitchen is an anthology of stories, historiers, herstories, memories and artefacts. It is an exploration into cultural production, with poetry, photographs and narratives of displacement and exile. We invite you to learn not only how to make these dishes, but also what they mean and what they signify through their very constitution. These books will be available in the fall in all major retailers but we are offering an exclusive pre-order for those who contribute to our campaign so that we may fund our summer projects in refugee camps across the Levant. Will ship near the end of summer when the books are printed. See book + sample recipes here: https://karvanapp.com/buy-our-kookbook/waiting-list-karvan-kitchen-hardcover-limited-addition

Handmade Rare Maori Greenstone (Ruakaraka)
In memory of the refugees and other innocents who died at the deplorable NZ Mosque Shooting, our Coordinator (a New Zealander + former coordinator of emergency rescue operations on the Mediterranean at ERCI, Lesvos) has donated this handmade Maori koru. Sam is a talented artist and carved the pendant out of an extremely rare yellow variety of greenstone (Pounamu, in Maori). The shape, koru, represents new life, which is what we are aiming to give our users through our system. The koru also represents harmony and perpetual movement. We too are trying to achieve harmony between people of all races, religions, sexual orientation and genders. Perpetual Movement is likewise the defining characteristic of the refugee experience. At the same time, we hope to bring about a society that is constantly moving in the direction of a more just world. We have only one of these pieces, and it is a rare treasure. See picture on main campaign page (scroll to the bottom)
