An expansion to our facility and our self-defense, fitness and health education programs.

IN A NUTSHELL

Muslim women deserve a space to workout and stay healthy without having to overpay, sacrifice their comfort or belief.

With your help we'll expand our facility, solidify our programs and offer:
  • Babysitting Services to make it easier for our mothers and caretakers to participate in our programs and activities
  • Hire Female Instructors to provide a comfortable class environemnt
  • Additional Classes and value to our membership in addition to creating a more appealing atmosphere for our youth
  • Develop Educational Programs that target topics like domestic violence, bullying, child healthcare and counseling, and more. 
With Allah's aid first and foremost and then your assistance this facility will be far more than a self defense and fitness school but a center for our community.

OUR STORY

There are many fitness facilities that cater to the general female population, but not many address the requirements of the Muslim woman. We are a Muslim-owned martial arts and fitness school with a facility located in New Jersey. We offer programs for adults, teens and kids but are a few steps behind with our WOMEN ONLY programs. 

Our Programs Include:
  • Pre/Post-Natal Fitness
  • Breastfeeding Counseling (on/off site)
  • Women Only Self Defense Classes
  • Women Only Fitness Programs
  • Women Only Personal Training Sessions
However, we are unable to maintain the programs due to the lack of space. The small space is great for adults but not their family, so this lack of accommodation causes for the women to seek this service elsewhere, i.e. mainstream gyms, etc.

HOW FUNDS WILL BE USED

We have developed our program, purchased most of our equipment, created our marketing campaigns and have gotten ball rolling. But we faced the following challenges:
 
  • Lack of space to entertain children who's mothers wanted to join
  • Lack of students caused issues with maintaining instructors
  • Lack of waiting space caused difficulty for some parents
This funding will help us, specifically, in the following areas:

ACQUIRE BIGGER SPACE
Just down the hall from us, a bigger space opened up which will allow to accomplish our goal and grow. We will add and prepare the NECESSARY children's area and have more room to accommodate larger groups.

ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT
Although not much is needed we'll just need to fill in some of the gaps after acquiring the bigger space. So a portion of the funding will go to fulfill this need.

FEMALE INSTRUCTORS
The remaining of the budget will be used to secure our female instructors for an allotted time. This will help us create a consistency in our programs.

NOTE: Any additional income will go towards developing our program, i.e. marketing, maintenance, etc.

If we don't raise the funds we'll be limited in what we can offer to the community. We will not be able to continue with our Women Only programs, bring us back to square-one. As Muslims we should be the best in character and offer the best in anything that we do - so without this support our goal to make our facility the best will be put on hold.

ABOUT ROLLSTAR

Rollstar Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Fitness is a Muslim-owned and operated martial arts school in Hackensack, New Jersey.

We began a men-only Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program in 2012 jumping in and out of different community centers, masajid and even attics. Although we enjoyed every minute, we were limited to specific schedules and space.

In June of 2014 we decided to open a small club in Hackensack, NJ. Since then we have continued developing our programs, but more importantly it gave us the opportunity to offer self-defense and fitness classes for women.

The women's only program is and remains to be popular but with one setback - space to accommodate children while the women train. This is something we hope to fix within the next month, inshaAllah.
