Your funds will help support Qariah’s tech team working round the clock to ensure the app inshAllah runs smoothly with regular updates! This Ramadan of 2026 we have been fortunate with the support of Quran.com to incorporate verified content such as translations, tafsir and curriculum lessons, as well as features such as bookmark, reading history and collections. Now, you can also include private notes that are synced with Quran.com so you can seamlessly see and use your content on both platforms, as well as include public reflections that you can post and have others comment on through the QuranReflect community!  

Your donations will also help us inshaAllah fund our Qariah Grant Fellowship program, where Qariahs are contracted to finish the entire Quran at regular intervals, as well as purchase quality tech equipment to ensure their recordings, inshaAllah, last for centuries. Over the past year, we’ve accepted new Qariahs through our online open enrollment process, and four Qariahs have been recording regularly in our Fellowship program, continuing their goal of recording the whole Qur’an inshAllah.

We are also ready to hire a small staff, inshAllah! Your support will help us move from a volunteer-based org (which comes with all the unpredictable realities of amazing but busy volunteers) to inshAllah a dedicated staff focused on ensuring Qariah advances in inshAllah expanding our selection of reciters to accept new Qariahs, edit the recitations and upload them, and have women around the world record in every translation inshAllah

A Little Info About Qariah For Those Just Learning About Us!

“Qariah” translates to a woman Quran reciter. While there are many public Qariahs around the globe in countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Morocco, Algeria, Nigeria and Yemen, it is not a well known term in many Muslim communities in the west. 

Thus, the Qariah app aims to mainstream the term Qariah and accessing recitations of Qariahs…so that when little girls ask their mothers or aunts or sisters or friends, “Why are there no women Quran reciters?” The answer will be a resounding, “There are an uncountable number of them- and God willing, you and I can be them too!”

Qariah launched in Ramadan 2022 and has had an overwhelmingly positive response. 

Women all around the world have contacted Qariah to share their stories of trying to read the Quran out loud for the first time in decades, of reciting the Quran out loud with their grandmothers and mothers, and of embarking on a journey to memorize the Quran for the first time in their lives. 

Mothers have shared that their 3, 10 and 15 year old daughters are saying that they want to memorize the Quran and they aim to become a Qariah. 

Women have told us they have begun to pray, wear hijab and convert to Islam because of the impact it has had on them. We have also heard from women who have left Islam unfortunately due to trauma “in the name” of religion and hearing women’s recitations has opened a door for them to reconsider Islam again, Alhamdulilah. 

To have seen this impact in less than two years on women all around the globe has been humbling and incredible. We are so grateful to Allah.

We feature over 60 women representing cultures all around the world: from Tanzania to Indonesia, Australia to Spain, Morocco to Somalia, Canada to Pakistan, Algeria to Malaysia, the Philippines to The Gambia, Singapore to Palestine, Nigeria to Finland, the United States to Egypt, Yemen to Mauritania and more.

Each Qariah has memorized the Quran or holds an ijaza (license to teach), or is a national or international Quran competition winner or a qualified Quran teacher. The app showcases women’s scholarship with Quran and aims to inspire women across the globe to pursue Quranic understanding, memorization, and contemplative recitation.
