I am Amin Nathari, a lifelong Muslim, and by the Permission of Allah, I have reached the milestone of 20 Years of service to the Muslim Community, having served as Imam, Director, Khateeb and in many other roles. And of all the initiatives and projects that I have been involved in, I am most excited about this new initiative that will help simplify the process of attaining the basic essentials of Islam with a practical application for 21st Century America: Muslim Empowerment Institute (MEI)

On January 1, 2016, MEI will formally launch with 3 days of events at Muhammad Mosque in Baltimore, MD: activities include Jumu'ah khutbah followed by Introduction to MEI and website launch; Saturday and Sunday afternoon sessions will round out the weekend.

After a very successful "soft launch" introductory session in Ramadan 2015 it became clear that MEI was an effective model and the demand rapidly grew for this initiative be expanded to the national level.  MEI has designated the year 2016 to be the year of the "Empowered Muslim".

Since founding IAM in 2008, Imam Nathari has been a prolific fund raiser, instrumental in raising well over $1 million dollars for various mosques, centers and other community and organizational projects and initiatives benefiting both the Black American and Muslim communities of various ethnicities throughout America; And he has NEVER charged an honorarium! He is motivated by his love of Islam and the Muslim community.

• Cover expenses for the January 1-3, 2016 Launch event of the Muslim Empowerment Institute (MEI) in Baltimore, MD 
  

• Upgrade our technology infrastructure, including interactive website, online learning and video production capabilities for both live streaming and webcasting of all IAM- MEI events and programs and the new YouTube show Making It Plain with Amin Nathari™ (debuting in the Spring 2016).
