The goal of this campaign is to raise $2550 in 6 weeks to build 6 wells in communities in Niger. This fundraiser is organized by UW OSP, in collaboration with IDRF

Water is the most basic necessity for life. Across Niger, food and water insecurity are intensified by poverty, environmental degradation and fluctuations in climate and political conditions.

The water wells built through this campaign will provide clean water to ensure proper hydration and sanitation for these communities for years to come!

Every donation helps, if you want to donate a fixed portion of a well, here are some calculations you can keep in mind:

Donate a quarter of a well: $105

Donate half a well: $215

Donate a well: $425

Donate two wells: $850

Allah says in the Qur’an, ‘By means of water, we give life to everything’ (Qur’an, 21:30). The Messenger of Allah (saw) was asked, “Which charity is best?” He replied, “[Providing] water”’. [Abu Dawud]. This is also sadaqah jaariya, and you will accumulate good deeds for every drop of water from the well inshaAllah!

Where the money goes:

The total cost of only the wells is $2400

The additional $150 is only to cover Launchgood processing fees that are unavoidable.

From the rest of the money, 90% of all proceeds will go directly to "6 Wells in 6 Weeks" and 10% for operational and admin costs through IDRF, a registered Canadian Charitable Organization (Registration No. 132542705RR0001).
