The Refugee Crisis in Texas: Families in Desperate Need

The beginning of 2025 has been devastating for refugees in Texas. With the sudden suspension of refugee programs, families that arrived with hope are now living in uncertainty. The refugee community in Texas is in crisis!

With the indefinite suspension of the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP), thousands of families are struggling to survive without basic necessities.

Stranded and Abandoned

Thousands of refugees who were approved for resettlement are now unable to enter the U.S. Many have lost access to food assistance, housing support, and crucial financial aid for rent, utilities, and basic living expenses. Without this help, families already facing language barriers, job insecurity, and health challenges are now at risk of eviction, hunger, and losing access to essential services like electricity and water.

To make matters worse, large organizations have shut down their refugee programs, leaving the most vulnerable with nowhere to turn.
