Imam Sohaib Sultan recently passed away after a year-long battle with a rare and aggressive bile duct cancer. He worked in the field of Islamic chaplaincy on U.S. college campuses for over fifteen years, including 13 years as Princeton University's Muslim chaplain. He was a pioneer in the field. 

In the final weeks of his life, he expressed his ultimate wish that his legacy be focused on the field of Islamic chaplaincy. To that end, the Imam Sohaib Sultan Charitable Fund will focus on supporting Islamic chaplaincy programs and students aspiring to become Muslim chaplains.

Imam Sohaib's model of Muslim college chaplaincy emphasized "town-and-gown" relations. He articulated a vision where a university's Muslim student community would worship alongside individuals from the community beyond the university gates. The Princeton Muslim Life Program epitomizes this vision. The Fund will ensure that this model of Islamic chaplaincy and community-building endures long past Imam Sohaib's lifetime.
