The Sacred Symphony of Nature

Just over 12 years ago, world-renowned scholar Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad (born Timothy Winter) envisioned building Cambridge’s first purpose-built mosque. 

His intention was not only to help shelter worshippers from the challenging natural elements but to also cater to a vibrant and diverse community in one of the world’s most iconic cities.

Cambridge Central Mosque (CCM) is a pioneer in conceptualizing a British mosque for the 21st century. Since opening our doors in April 2019 to 1500 worshippers, our guiding vision has allowed us to become a torchbearer for values that are simultaneously universal and Islamic: Sustainability, Environmental Stewardship & Community Integration.

As CCM approaches its 1-year anniversary, we urge the global community to join us this Ramadan and help spread these beautiful values around the world.
