In 1984, a dedicated group of volunteers came together to cultivate a strong sense of community among Palestinian Canadians. Their mission was to educate others about the rich tapestry of Palestinian cultural heritage, history, and current issues. This vision led to the creation of the Canada Palestine Cultural Association (CPCA), a non-profit organization committed to promoting understanding and bridging gaps between diverse communities. 

Over the years our roots have deepened, evolving into a powerful platform for preserving and sharing Palestinian culture. Our aspirations extend beyond education; we aim to empower the Palestinian community through personal development, leadership skills, and active participation in local and global initiatives.

We believe that through education and cultural engagement, individuals from all backgrounds can come together to experience the wonderful traditions of Palestine, building bridges of acceptance and compassion. This campaign aims to lay the groundwork for establishing a holistic, culturally relevant, and inclusive Hub that addresses the specific needs of Palestinians and ethnocultural minorities across Edmonton.

We are now launching a campaign to establish a holistic, culturally relevant Hub that addresses the specific needs of Palestinians and ethnocultural minorities in Edmonton. This Centre will serve as a safe and inclusive space, offering a variety of programs, including:

• Skill development and leadership sessions
• Senior engagement initiatives
• Youth programs and recreational activities
• Quran and Arabic language classes
• Support for Palestinian artists through arts programs
• Dabkeh sessions to connect with Palestinian heritage

The Hub will not only be a refuge for Palestinians but also a vibrant environment that celebrates diverse cultures and fosters community bonding. Establishing this Centre will enhance our eligibility for additional funding and support, amplifying our social impact and reinforcing the Palestinian identity within Edmonton.

Funding Goal

To finalize the purchase of the Centre, we need to raise $2.6 million. So far, we have collected $524,500 from the first fundraiser and  we are expecting to collect additional  $1 million from the house sale and cash on hand.

Calculation of Remaining Funds Needed

To determine the remaining amount needed to reach our goal:

Total goal: $3,150,000 

Amount collected: $524,500 (from the first fundraiser) + $1,000,000 (from the house sales and cash on hand ) = $1,524,500

Remaining amount needed: $3,150,000 - $1,524,500 = $1,625,500

We need to raise $2,625,500 to reach our goal.
