700 MILLION PEOPLE LIVE WITHOUT CLEAN WATER

In the deserts of Africa, millions of people have access to dirty water or no water at all. Girls as young as 7 begin walking kilometers upon kilometers to fetch dirty water for their families. Only 45% of Somalis have access to improved water sources and this increases the risk of outbreaks of waterborne diseases. Clean, accessible water for all is an essential part of the world we want to live in. The UN reports that there is sufficient fresh water on the planet to achieve this. But due to bad economics or poor infrastructure, every year millions of people, most of them children, die from diseases associated with inadequate water supply, sanitation, and hygiene.

THIS IS NOT THE WORLD WE WANT TO CREATE.

At a time when the world has the know-how, technology and the resources to provide clean water, children should not be dying of water-borne diseases. The Difference between clean and dirty water is life and death. 

HayaHelps is working with HCI to change our world and tackle this epidemic through building a Water Well for an impoverished community in Somalia. By providing safe, clean water, sanitation and hygiene to communities who need it most, your contribution towards a well will serve as a form of Sadaqah Jariyah (on going charity) for you.  In some countries, the difference between clean and dirty water is life and death.
