White Plains Islamic Center needs to purchase a permanent home for its worshippers. We seek 1 million dollars USD to purchase and renovate a property in White Plains for the masjid to call its own.

Born in 2018, WPIC began by leasing a store space inside The Galleria Mall in White Plains, NY for Friday congregation and the upcoming month of Ramadaan. Within weeks, it grew its congregation to 40 regular attendees. The demand was so high for a masjid in White Plains that, in just 2 years, it grew to approximately ~150 worshippers!

The WPIC has built a community that truly values the services it provides, including:

• Masjid / Bayt Allaah - an easily accessible space for worshippers to benefit their spiritual status.
• Tawzee` Al-Amaanah - charity distribution facilitation from those who have extra for those who do not.
• Madrasah - an educational facility to teach children about Allaah ﷻ, his Messenger ﷺ, and etiquette (adab).
• Nikaah - in-house marriage facilities registered with New York State.
• Janaazah - funeral services at nearby funeral homes.
• Shahaadah - assistance with accepting Islam for potential converts/reverts.

Masjid management has been preparing since 2018 for the mall's closure. While continuing to expand services for the congregation, capital funds have been collected and properties for rent/purchase have been passively evaluated. The time has come! Mall management has decided to shut down in March 2023. While we will miss our home and cordial relationship with The Galleria Mall management, we must move onto greener pastures.
