URGENT NEED

Millions of people are still forced to leave their home countries due to war, conflict, oppression and poverty. They are from countries such as Palestine, Yemen, Syria, Sudan, Lebanon and Afghanistan. The recent aggression escalation and war within these countries means that every day hundreds of people are forced to embark on dangerous boat journeys from Turkey to the European shores of Greece to seek safety and asylum. 

This means thousands of women, children, men, babies, elderly and disabled people face death, border violence and exploitation. If they make it  to the Greek Islands or the mainland they face torturous refugee camp conditions, forced to live in tents, containers or face homelessness - and now it is winter!

There is a lack of food, water, shelter, medical support, clothing and heating, and people living within the refugee camps are struggling to survive. 

1. People who are refugees do not have a choice but we do! We can choose to help our brothers, sisters and children in need.
2. Give emergency winter aid, blankets and tents.
3. Help us provide  food packs to those who are refugees and suffering from malnutrition.
4. Donate for essential hygiene products to combat the unhygienic, infected and rat infested living conditions to help keep people infection free and safe..
5. Provide hot meals for those who are homeless.

We, at Refugee Biriyani & Bananas have supported 1 million people in Europe and the Middle East over the previous 9 years and we will continue to support people facing poverty due to war and poverty for as long as we can. For this we need your support.

Asma, a single mother of two babies from Gaza, told us: ‘I was desperate. I thought I would have to sell myself to feed my children. The monthly food pack you provide me helps us.’

Mohammed, 12 years old from Syria: ‘I go through trash for ten hours every day to collect cardboard and sell it for 15 Euros. I can’t go to school. If I don’t work, my family of seven people and I will go hungry.’ 

• A monthly food pack can consist of rice, oil, sugar, lentils, tinned fish, chickpeas, dates, juices, flour, salt and eggs.
• A monthly hygiene kit can consist of dishwashing liquid, clothes washing powder, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, sanitary towels for females and a toothbrush.
• Emergency winter aid can provide: Sleeping bags, blankets, tents and winter clothing.
