Help us Build a New Home for the Islamic Society of Santa Barbara, after our Mosque sustained extensive damages in a fire.

Update #1 

Thank you to everyone who has donated to this campaign from all over the world. Because of you we have already broken ground on our new Islamic Center in Santa Barbara. 

We have a group of donors who will match dollar for dollar up to $500,000. For every $100,000 we raise these donors will instantly match $100,000, our next goal is $300,000 which would give us a total of $400,000. We Must Rebuild Together

In a time where we have seen so much hate in the news, we have seen an outpouring of love from the local Santa Barbara community in support of the Islamic Society of Santa Barbara. 

For the last ten year's our Mosque has been on the top floor of a two-story complex in Goleta. Sadly, on Sunday night Feb 19th our Mosque sustained extensive damages as most of this complex was burnt down. As of now we don't know the cause of the fire, but at a time when we need our Mosque home more than ever this is absolutely devastating for our community. 
We have been working for years to build a permanent home. Click here to learn about the Islamic Center we are hoping to build within the  next year. 

We call on you people of good will from throughout Santa Barbara, from California, and around the world to help us rebuild. All money collected will go towards our immediate needs and towards building a permanent home for the ISSB.

    Salaam and may peace be upon you all, 

    We are writing with an exciting update. We have a group of donors in Santa Barbara who have been so inspired by this LaunchGood campaign that they are willing to match up to $500,000 dollars in donations. 

    For every $100,000 we can raise this group of donors will match $100,000 instantly. That means if we can raise just $12,295.00 that every dollar each of you has given will be instantly matched and we will have raised $200,000. 

    This is a real opportunity to turn the tragedy of our mosque burning down into a community triumph.

    ISSB Mosque Almost at $100,000! Thank You

    As Salaam Alaykum,  you are incredible, all 1418 of you who have donated from around the world. Many people talk about doing good but few actually do it.

    With your support, we have reached 87% of our initial goal of $100,000.

    I am sad to say that the ISSB is still homeless and still does not have a place for classes or daily prayers, but we are very excited and have started building our permanent home, a goal that without you was never reachable.

    Please keeep us in your prayers and help us reach our goal. We will be updating the campaign in the coming days with some very exciting news.

    $60,000 Raised! Update on the Santa Barbara Mosque

    Salaam and may peace and blessings be upon you all, 

    We wanted to thank each and every one of you for your donations to help us rebuild and to help us fulfill our vision in building a permanent Mosque home in Santa Barbara. Here is a special message from our Imam, Imam Yama Niazi from inside the burned out space that use to house our mosque. 

    Some of us have been working for more than 30 years to build a permanent Mosque home in Santa Barbara, but with a community, with only a couple hundred Muslims that dream has been hard for us to reach. 

    In all these years we have worked to build our new mosque we have never felt as much hope as we have over the last week with over 1200 donors and $60,000 raised from throughout the world, and across faith communities. 

    We started this campaign with a humble goal of raising $20,000 dollars to cover the expenses of us moving to another temporary Mosque space. With the incredible response, we have seen from people like you, now we believe that we can build this permanent home in Santa Barbara.

    Can you share our story and help this dream become a reality?
