Sweet Hanan

Meet Hanan. At the tender age of two, she has experienced more pain than most adults. She has felt the pain of war since she was born. She knows what it feels like to travel for a whole month just to find a safe shelter to live. She knows what it means to feel the pangs of hunger-- When UOSSM-staff reached Hanan, her malnutrition bracelet was red, signifying severe malnutrition. 

Who's Paying Attention to Medical Relief?

Hanan is one of many children in Syria facing critical conditions in Syria. Since April 21 over 350,000 people have been displaced as they were forced to flee the surge in bombings in over 60 communities. Many of these people have nowhere to go as they head towards the Turkish border; with little protection from anything, and a shortage of the basic necessities of life including food, clean water, and access to medical care. 

A surge in the need for medical relief

Since April 28, 21 medical facilities were bombed and put out of service leaving tens of thousands without access to medical care. At least 265 civilians have been killed, including three medical staff, and over 800 were wounded. A large number of the casualties are children and women.

A Swift Response by UOSSM

UOSSM has numerous mobile clinics active in the Idlib governorate. With the surge in civilian attacks and displaced individuals, we need your help to continue to provide emergency, nutrition and reproductive services via mobile clinics. Many of these innocent civilians can't even find a shelter or tent so they are staying in open fields, under trees, sheltered by cars with little to no food. Mobile clinics are unique as they can treat isolated, vulnerable communities to provide emergency care and nutrition services.
