Provide Food Packages for Bedouin Families in Hebron and Jericho

Zam Zam will be on the ground March 15th - 17th in the West Bank to serve 200 families in Khan Al-Ahmar, Masafer Yatta, and the Jabal Al Baba area. Food packages will last families an average of 8 weeks.

Why It Matters

According to the World Food Programme, food insecurity in Palestine affects 1.3 million people. In the West Bank, the prolonged period of slow economic growth, restrictions on movement, trade, investment and access to land and water resources, together with higher food prices, continue to erode the fragile livelihoods of poor Palestinians. More than 60 percent of the Bedouin and herding communities in Area C of the West Bank are food-insecure.

About Zam Zam

Zam Zam is a humanitarian organization devoted to playing a vital role in eradicating poverty by providing clean, sustainable water and access to quality education to villages across the globe. Zam Zam has built 10 water systems in Gaza serving over 15,000 students. Additionally, Zam Zam has raised over $158,000 to serve more than 6,300 children in Gaza with warm clothing.

Palestine: The West Bank

Marhaba, 

We are delighted to share with you that we are back safe and sound from our trip to Palestine and were successful in facilitating The West Bank project. We spent a total of 5 intense days visiting 3 different Bedouin camp areas in Massafer Yatta, Khan Al Ahmar, and Jabal Al Baba in Hebron and Jericho, respectively. 

With your support, we were able to distribute over 200 food packages and our experience with the villagers was meaningful, engaging, and thought-provoking. 

Thankfully, while in Ramallah, we were able to negotiate better pricing for each package directly through the distributor. We had 20 different products and a total of 47 items. These food packages weighed over 40 kg (88 lbs). With more food these packages are expected to last the families an expected 3 months.

                  We rented a truck for 3 days to transport over 200 boxes to each camp
 .       The strength of this Palestinian Mother is unwavering, over 85 pounds on her head!
