Funding University Scholarships for Syrian Refugees in Jordan

We are raising $16,000 per semester, or $2,000 per student to continue funding our Bareeq University Scholarship program. These bright young university students are majoring in programs that will contribute to the rebuilding of their communities and country.

We have Impacted a total of 10 university students so far: two have completed the scholarship program while eight are continuing their university degrees. We believe that it will be these and other young and driven individuals like them who will rebuild their country and help their communities.

The Project

Believing in the potential of our children and providing hope for the future, the Bareeq University Scholarship Fund,  offers opportunities for disadvantaged yet bright and motivated high-school graduate refugees to enroll in local universities and obtain bachelor degrees in their field of choice.

Bareeq University Scholarship students are already giving back to their community by dedicating some of their time to teaching elementary and high school Bareeq students at the Bareeq Center in Amman, in Arabic, English, Reading, Writing, and Math in a completely voluntary program created by Bareeq Education organization.

Achievements to Date

• One male student graduated from a Business Administration Bachelor program in 2016
• One female student in Medical School -- was under Bareeq Scholarship for two years and now is self-funded (2016)
• Five female students studying Pharmaceutical Science – continuing their third year of 5 a year program (class of 2019)
• One male student studying Civil Engineering -- continuing his third year of a 5 year program (class of 2019)
• One female student studying Graphic Design/Visual Communications -- continuing her first year of a 4 year program (class of 2020)
• One female student completing her Master's Degree in Arabic Literature (final semester).
  

Our previous scholarship recipients have gone on to leading successful careers, and we are eager to see our current scholarship recipients through their education journey.

Bareeq - A Better Future for Syrian Children of War

We provide free education, supplies, and programs for the students of Bareeq. Our students are refugees, mostly from Syria, ranging from grade 3 to the completion of high school. We also provide university scholarships to refugees who are bright, motivated, and will be the future of Syria. With your donations, we can provide all the necessary tools to supply a structured education that will ensure a strong future for these underprivileged boys and girls.

The Bareeq Team

Bareeq Education & Development is an educational non-profit organization with the mission of providing refugee and other marginalized youths and their mothers with the opportunities, knowledge, skill set, guidance, and positive mental health to help them be effective members of their communities. Our team is comprised of an international team to include Americans, Jordanians, Syrians, and even Syrian refugees who are studying in Jordanian Universities.

There are many ways to help bring about a brighter future for this generation of Syrians. The first would be a direct donation on this site, will support from our partner VIP.Fund that will go towards tuition and education supplies for our students. 

The second way is by spreading the word. If you are passionate about helping Syrian refugees, please volunteer a bit of time to spread the word in your community and social networks about this and other campaigns.
