In two short years, our 100+ team of volunteers have accomplished some impactful goals: 

• 31 Scholarships awarded worth $121,500 to high achieving High School and University students

• 21 Awards to recognize professional and community leaders
• Over 100 mentors and mentees in the MAX Mentorship Program 
  

In 2015 a group of proud Canadian Muslims took the first steps to achieving a shared dream: ‘To elevate the brand of Muslims in Canada.’ In laying the roadmap for the journey ahead, MAX was established with the founding charter to: Recognize, reward and motivate the excellent professional and educational achievements and charitable contributions of Canadian Muslims.

We focus on achieving our goals through 4 main areas:

MAX Awards

There are 13 MAX Awards in six categories to recognize  Canadian Muslims who have demonstrated significant achievement, leadership, and commitment to serving their community in a diverse range of professional and community capacities. The awards team is responsible for the entire process from design to implementation of each award. After the awards nominations deadlines, the team facilitates the process of each application to be reviewed and scored against a rubric by a team of over 100 judges. 

MAX Scholarships

The Scholarships team’s main objective is to enable the next generation of MAX leaders. The team is responsible for the entire scholarships process from design to implementation of each of the high school and university scholarships available at MAX. This involves setting criteria, liaising with sponsors, applicants and judges and processing applications.

MAX Mentors

Our team of over 20 volunteers on MAX Mentors focus on delivering events throughout the year while effectively matching senior level professionals who serve as mentors, with emerging professionals to break glass ceilings and create a culture of excellence in the community.  To date, we have matched over 50 mentor - mentee pairs which means we already have over 100 people in our mentorship program. 

MAX Gala

An annual Gala that celebrates our Awards, Scholarships and Mentors. Previous galas were hosted at the Ritz and the Roy Thomson Hall with over 1000 guests, including various high profile individuals in attendance in 2017.

MAX is a journey. It’s a labour of love and it’s something we’re building together for the long term- something that is already impacting Canadian Muslims in a tangible way. MAX will likely out-live all of us, and God willing, have a profound impact on the present and future of our community here in Canada, and perhaps one day, North America. It’s through thousands of volunteer hours and support from YOU- our community, that we have come this far, but our work is never done and we’re counting on your continued support to keep us going!
