Br. Abdalhamid was born in New York to English parents. He reverted to Islam when he was 26 after a lot of soul-searching.
I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Abdalhamid (may Allah have mercy on him) for over 6 years now but I wish I knew him long before. One of the most soft spoken, gentlest and compassionate individuals I have ever met combined with the energy, dynamism and passion to make a difference. And he truly did so over the course of his life. He touched my life and so many others. Abdalhamid was one who was truly in touch with his spiritual side - he maintained a strong connection with God and you would see that from everyone of his actions.
In his professional life, he was a pioneer in the halal space long before halal became a global mega trend. We relied on his wide and deep expertise to guide us to the right knowledge and individuals several times. He was instrumental in curating the first Global Islamic Economy Summit and setting the agenda for the discussion - one that will be remembered for many many decades to come - to really bring the Muslim lifestyle to the forefront.
I pray Allah accepts his many good deeds and his humble and compassionate lifestyle and grants him the highest Jannah.

I just wanted to reach out and say thank you for your contribution for the family of Abdalhamid Evans. Beyond the monetary amount you have provided, you have given them an enormous moral and psychological boost. The family has had challenging times of late and nothing more so than losing Abdalhamid. The outpouring of messages and love for him made them feel that their father was loved and cherished by so many.
The way the community has come together through Launchgood and through all the messages they have written for him has been nothing short of phenomenal. It really goes to show the lasting imprint that Abdalhamid had on everyone's life and more importantly - what really matters in this world is the human impact you have on each individual and Abdalhamid had nothing short of a huge impact.
