Our 7th families conference, scheduled to take place October 6-8 in the Washington DC area, will provide support for those who have loved ones in prison and who have been most impacted by the War on Terror.  Our conferences provide dozens of families with a space to build community, heal, and most importantly, learn skills that would help them advocate and push back against the post 9/11 policies that have targeted their loved ones. Our programming includes meditation and prayer as well as advocacy and campaigning skills sessions.  By empowering families to take action, these conferences help shatter the silence on the abuses of the War on Terror and dismantle institutionalized Islamophobia.  Will you help us make this conference happen? 

Ending institutionalized Islamophobia

Since the National Coalition to Protect Civil Freedoms' inception, NCPCF's inception, the families’ conference has been a focal point of our work as we aim to help those most affected by the counterproductive policies of the War on Terror.  Families of prisoners suffer tremendously both from the loss of their loved ones and because of the financial, social, psychological and health consequences. 

In November, 2012, NCPCF held the first ever Conference for these families in the Washington DC area to end their persecution and to empower them to speak out against the repression.  Since then NCPCF has convened a families conference every year.  

NCPCF is the only organization which works to support impacted families and that's why we need your help!

Building Our Power 

The families conference provides affected families, comprised mostly of women and children, with support groups, counseling, social justice and media workshops, advocacy training, and a collective space for networking and healing.  

We focus on building communication capacity and power of affected families impacted by government abuse of power within our collective experiences to address the overall criminal justice system and Islamophobia.
