Welcome to the Berkeley Masjid!

The Berkeley Masjid Foundation (BMF) serves the UC Berkeley student community, as well as the local Muslim community. We provide Taraweeh, Eid, and Friday prayer services, and Islamic Sunday school. We organize community potlucks, and provide dinners during the month of Ramadan. Our Masjid is owned by the BMF. The BMF asked for loans from community members to finance the construction of the masjid.

We want to repay those individuals whose $450,000 are still remaining. We are asking for help from all muslims to repay these generous individuals. It has been 10+ years and the loan is very long due and the kind brothers who made the loans need their money back ASAP. This is the month of giving and this money is going for the construction of the mosque

The Berkeley Masjid has been serving the Muslim community of the East Bay Area since 2011. It has especially provided the students of UC Berkeley a place to find spiritual rejuvenation, solace, sisterhood and brotherhood at a time where one's identity can easily come into question.

Our current services include:

-Friday sermon and prayer
-Sunday School with Quranic and Islamic studies
-Daily Iftar/dinner during Ramadan
-Taraweeh prayer
-Eid prayer
-Annual community potlucks
-Hosting scholars to teach ilm workshops 

The Berkeley Masjid is under ownership of the Berkeley Masjid Foundation, which consists of a few key members who loaned the masjid  to finance the construction of the masjid in 2006.

Since then, our community members have successfully raised money but still has $450,000 to pay back.

Now we are turning to you for the final stretch.

To repay our Qard e Hasana, we are asking for help from all Muslims to repay these generous individuals and share in the retroactive reward of helping to build a masjid.
